Jane Dale BSc FCA
 |
Jane is a Chartered Accountant (qualified with Ernst & Young in 1985) who moved into insurance in 1989 when she joined Legal & General. Jane spent the next 18 years with L&G and held a variety of interesting roles, including traditional finance roles. From 1997 to 2005 Jane was the MD of L&G’s Group Protection business and led a period of significant growth. This success led to the opportunity in 2005 to take over as the MD of L&G’s General Insurance business in Birmingham.
Jane left L&G in 2008 originally intending to pursue a portfolio career and she combined interim assignments at Genworth, Shop Direct and Aviva with her first non-executive role (British Gas Services, appointed in 2009). Her hopes for a better lifestyle balance didn’t quite go to plan when she joined Ageas Protect in 2011 as the interim Finance Director, originally for 6 months. This turned into a full time role for over 4 years, during which she worked closely with the new MD to grow the business. Ageas put the business up for sale in January 2014 following a strategic review and Jane played a key role during the sale process, which culminated in AIG purchasing the business at the end of 2014. Following completion of the integration process and handover to her deputy, Jane left AIG in September 2015.
This time, Jane is determined to follow a portfolio career and has recently been appointed Chairman of BHSF, a non-profit health cash plan and occupational health business, based in Birmingham.
Jane splits her time between London and Birmingham.
